From V\u00fd\u0161kovice to Z\u00e1b\u0159eh<\/h3>\n
A walk through housing estates with Martin Strako\u0161, an art historian, and Jakub Iv\u00e1nek, a documenter of Ostrava\u2019s statues. This time we are departing on a journey along the street car rails from V\u00fd\u0161kovice to Z\u00e1b\u0159eh or also from the terminal street car station to the centre of the South Town, how this satellite situated in the southern part of Ostrava in registry of municipality Z\u00e1b\u0159eh nad Odrou used to be called. First we\u2019ll walk through the younger parts of estates in V\u00fd\u0161kovice land registry. Then we\u2019ll head to the core of the satellite along V\u00fd\u0161kovick\u00e1 street with the cinema Luna, a hotel, shopping centre Kotva, and various types of blocks of flats. The mentioned housing estates are still perceived as new parts of Ostrava, so they do not get much attention from museums. The last year we walked through housing estate Fifejdy on the border of Mari\u00e1nsk\u00e9 Hory and Moravian Ostrava. This time we will also walk through city suburbia, which is connected to its surroundings and a vast recreation area of B\u011blsk\u00fd les in a fascinating manner.<\/p>\n
Modifications and reconstructions of the houses and whole blocks of houses, changes in the demography of population and lifestyle changes do have serious impact on the character of the quarters. Only people\u2019s memories, photos, and plans can keep what gradually becomes history of the place.<\/p>\n
