English TextOn Saturday 13th June, 2015 various museums, galleries and other cultural institutions will not close but stay open into the night. For the seventh time Ostrava will participate in an international festival with its Ostrava Museum Night. From 17.00 until midnight 37 state, non-profit and private organisations, which help form the cultural life in Ostrava, will present themselves.
This year will bring us also new participants. People’s Conservatory and Music School Ostrava will introduce its activities to us and will offer chance to try several interesting artistic techniques. Secondary Art School and a Grammar School has prepared a wide selection of artistic activities in the studios of individual subjects, screenings of student films and animations, tour of the school, with a surprise at the end. The Tearoom Rashmi will have an opening to an exhibition, author readings, theatre improvisation, recital and children’s workshops. An exhibition The Magical House of Luxembourg in the Science and Technology Centre, which presents facsimiles of the famous library of Wenceslaus IV, will also have free entry.
Owing to the booking system you can avoid the long queues this year too. The symbol “REZERVACE” (booking) will be next to the activities that are convenient to book in advance. All the other information is available on the website www.ostravskamuzejninoc.cz and on Facebook.
Do not let this free brilliant programme slip away and embark on an exceptional night journey to fun and adventure with us. Special bus lines will be available this year too. These will transport you for free between the participating institutions.
A grand opening will take place in front of the New Town Hall at Prokeš Square at 18.00. The festival will be ceremonially opened at the presence of the city’s and organising institutions’ representatives by launching balloons together. Balloons will be free of charge and the guests are invited to collect them from 17.30.
