Antiquarian bookshop and club Fiducia17.00–19.00From Výškovice to ZábřehA walk through housing estates with Martin Strakoš, an art historian, and Jakub Ivánek, a documenter of Ostrava’s statues. This time we are departing on a journey along the street car rails from Výškovice to Zábřeh or also from the terminal street car station to the centre of the South Town, how this satellite situated in the southern part of Ostrava in registry of municipality Zábřeh nad Odrou used to be called. First we’ll walk through the younger parts of estates in Výškovice land registry. Then we’ll head to the core of the satellite along Výškovická street with the cinema Luna, a hotel, shopping centre Kotva, and various types of blocks of flats. The mentioned housing estates are still perceived as new parts of Ostrava, so they do not get much attention from museums. The last year we walked through housing estate Fifejdy on the border of Mariánské Hory and Moravian Ostrava. This time we will also walk through city suburbia, which is connected to its surroundings and a vast recreation area of Bělský les in a fascinating manner. Modifications and reconstructions of the houses and whole blocks of houses, changes in the demography of population and lifestyle changes do have serious impact on the character of the quarters. Only people’s memories, photos, and plans can keep what gradually becomes history of the place. 17.00 Meeting at the terminal station of Výškovice street car, no. 2, 6, 7, and 15 in Ostrava-Výškovice on Výškovická street. 18.00–22.00Ostrava museum night in FiduciaThe entire Fiducia including the second-hand bookshop will be open and a traditional literature competition for valuable prizes will be awaiting you. 18.00–20.00Special museum workshops for kids and their parentsArtists Marcela Lysáčková and Max Lysáček will assist you during the workshop. |
